Alissa (she/her) Dip. ABST CPDT-KA

Alissa's love for dogs began long before she could walk. Like many pet lovers, she spent most of her childhood following around the family pets. This passion for animals extended throughout her entire schooling and even led to the completion of her Bachelor of Science in Animal Biology from the University of Guelph.

During Alissa's time at Guelph, she volunteered with a service dog organization as a puppy raiser, this role included training basic manners and socializing the puppy extensively through public access work. Alissa has also had the pleasure of working with non-domestic species such as lemurs, kangaroos, caimans, foxes, skunks, and other reptiles and mammals through a zoo outreach program.

Alissa continued her education in animal behaviour through the Companion Animal Science Institute where she completed her Diploma in Animal Behaviour Science and Technology. Alissa has also completed the Karen Pryor Academy Puppy Start Right Instructor Course. As science is ever-growing, so is Alissa's education as she continues to learn and attend seminars on animal training and behaviour.

When Alissa's nose isn't stuck in a book, or watching yet another animal-related show, you can find her out on the trails with her best friends who all seem to have furry faces and four feet!
